Title: Weird growths in fields
Post by: KirinChris on October 03, 2022, 06:46:52 pm
Came across these today - several of them about 2m apart.

They look like they could be a fungus of some sort, or could be of insect origin.

About 8-10 cm across and stuck to the grass. Surface like cauliflower.

The brilliantly named Dog Sick Slime Mould, Fuligo septica http://naturewonders.org/picture?/1005

Or, if you are Scandanavian, it's the vomit of troll cats.  :tired:

I found some of this the other night while we were walking the puppy in one of our fields. I actually asked my wife if the dog had been sick 🤣. We've also got some crazy sized mushrooms about too
