Hi. My 17 yr old daughter entered two of our ryelands into a show this year for the first time, we halter trained, got a kit shampoo and clipped fleece fixed and patted with a patter but compared to the others ours did not look show trimmed any advice on how to get the fleece looking right

Lots of practice. Card and trim till you're happy. Always remember you can take more off but you can't put it back on.

You don't say lambs or adults , if adults when did you shear them as a thick fleece makes them look bigger and then good trimming can hide many faults . When carding and then trimming you are only cutting off tiny amounts at a time , just any tips sticking out plus plenty of carding to thicken out the fleece

Hi shep53 sorry yes they were lambs so had not been sheared she did win some of her classes but we are going again this year so I think we need to do lots more practice on the ones we are not showing perhaps
