Title: Orphan Lambs
Post by: JoshWiggill on July 23, 2022, 12:41:28 pm
Hi there,

I have two orphan female lambs who don't seem to be putting weight on anyway near there same rate as there too orphan male counterparts and the other lambs in the field. What may be the cause of this and is there anything that can be giving to them to encourage them to fatten up like the rest of the flock?

Many thanks

Josh

What are the feeding arrangements?  Is it possible that in practise they are unable to get much cake as their bigger brothers are hogging it all?  If the space they are in is quite large, they may not eat cake after their bros have finished, even if there is some left, as the flock moves away so they go with the flock.
