Title: new here.
Post by: bexair on March 08, 2022, 10:02:15 am
hi im new here.
we just bought a house in South West Wales.

its definitely smaller than a small holding but its bigger than your standard garden, and we are surrounded by woodlands and farms. We currently  keep chickens, bees and are this year planning to grow our own food. i plan to keep ducks and create an orchard and would love to learn about what can be done on a smallscale small holding like our own.

Hello and welcome to TAS.  You don't have to have rolling acres and large livestock flocks and herds to be a smallholder.  What you have sounds perfect and growing your own food is a worthy aim.  We are slowly shrinking our place back to that level now.

It's not the size of your holding, it's what you do with it that counts  :innocent: .

TBH I think a window box with herbs growing in it once passed as a smallholding. We're not overly hung up on definitions  ;D
