I received this from the Land Workers Alliance person in Scotland, asking if we could share it on our networks. So here it is. If you are interested, please contact Miranda on the number below. Leysmill is very pretty :D
"Dear all,
The estate where I live (Kinblethmont, DD11 4RW - https://www.kinblethmont.com/ (https://www.kinblethmont.com/)) is looking for a tenant – ideally a market gardener - to take on an approximately 1.5 ha plot. The field was part of an arable rotation of a tenant farmer who is retiring, with paperwork being completed in the next couple of weeks. It is said to be very good ground although I do not know all the ins and outs. The landlord is willing to make capital investments in necessary infrastructures, e.g. shed, water/electricity, fencing, if the right person with a decent amount of experience and some concrete plans comes along. There is also a willingness to discuss tenancy terms that are workable for a start-up/small business. The field is situated at the edge of the small village of Leysmill (DD11 4RR), at the end of a secure but private road. I don’t believe accommodation is available in the village at the moment (the current tenant will stay in the house) or on the wider estate, but Leysmill is less than a 5 min drive from Friockheim, 10 min drive from Arbroath and 15 min from Forfar. See pictures of the field attached.
I am really only acting as the middle-woman here, but I am just wondering if there are channels to distribute this info, or whether you could pass it on within your personal networks. As far as I am aware, the nearest market garden is on the Rottal Estate (Adrien) which is about 45 minutes way.
Please ask anyone with an interest to give me a call: 077 84 165 913.
Kind regards,
Miranda"
