Title: Newbie here from Worcester
Post by: UKSmallsholder on February 28, 2022, 10:19:29 pm
Just inherited a bit of a land and a farm and fishing for ideas on what to do with it!

The three obvious choices are to live there, rent out or sell. From experience just using it at weekends means a lot of work and the farmland will need management anyway. Just make sure you have proper contracts.

Perhaps a complete change of lifestyle for you if you want? All depends on your current circumstances.

Hello and welcome. For many folk on here, that would be a dream come true. Owning land, in my book, comes with a great responsibility to steward it wisely - that doesn't mean knowing everything before you start, but it means taking the responsibility seriously and committing to lifelong learning.
As chrismahon says, do you want to farm it?

Congratulations!  And welcome

The possibilities are almost infinite, so maybe you could give us a bit more info?  Acreage, how used now, state of the land and its fences (if any), what buildings, that sort of thing.  And as the others have said, some indication of whether you might like to farm it yourselves, just live there, a bit of both, rent it out but retain it as a nest egg, etc etc.

Wow, congratulations,
Exciting and daunting at the same time I should think.
So many questions, area?, buildings? Type of land, what's been done before?
What do YOU want? Do you like animals? Gardening?
 :)
