Grrrrrrrr. 2 of my biggest turkeys were stolen last night - I hope the thieves choke on a bone when eating them. I only had 9, so I am really fed up - I have a bridleway right by my farm, so presumably someone had seen them and came back at night and took them out of the pen.
So - having learnt my lesson, everything will be padlocked, panels are going up to hide them from the bridleway and we will be paranoid until Xmas. What a situation to be in - I was really happy to see people looking at the birds and animals and enjoying them, now I have to hide everything away.

I would be VERY VERY angry too, what part of the world are you in?? I felt mad when all our apples went from our first crop so nothing like the value and time growing a couple of Turkies......I wold want vengance but think things will get much much worse will all those people who were getting benifits having them stopped virtualy overnight and all the cuts to come and the increase in energy supplies!!! Hope our Chirstmas dinner is not stolen, we have 4 hubbards fattening up for the festivities!!!!!!!!!!

How absolutely horrid for you, and I don't want to put a further downer on you, but some years ago I had all my sheds/stables padlocked and thieves just used bolt cutters and cut through all the hasps, so when choosing your padlocks bear this in mind. It made me a bit paranoid at the time so I had a alarm system fitted with invisible "beams" so when someone walks in or around the yard an alarm goes off.
All the best

We are moving the turkeys into a different shed tonight and putting the ducks in the turkey shed - they WILL make a racket if disturbed! Went to get padlocks and the anti-bolt-cutter ones are over £30!! So, couldn't afford that today but we have done lots to deter - even padlocking the farm entrance gates which won't make the postman happy in the mornings!
I hope my insurance will cover the loss - but i bet there will be some sort of excess...

Our breeding turkey shed is padlocked but the youngsters are around the house in earshot of the kennels.Hope the thieves choke.
