Got two pigs going off in a week’s time. Last (and first) time I did this was two year’s ago.
When I asked for one to be bacon and sausages the guy at the abattoir said that would be a hell of a lot of sausages so I did half a pig to bacon and sausages and also had some gammon joints, then the other one and a half pig went into joints and belly strips and chops.
This time I’m going to stick with half pig bacon/sausages, and I still want the joints. There were a lot of packs of chops, and only one of us eats them. Is there another cut I can ask for that would reduce the amount of chops? I also want belly slabs instead of strips so I can try my own bacon (or roast whole or cut into strips), but also fancied ribs. This is the same cut of meat though isn’t it? Can I ask for some belly slabs and some ribs?
I have spoken to the abattoir but they are super busy and I didn’t want to hold them up with questions I can ask here ;)

You can ask them to bone and roll the loin, boneless loin steaks and fillet instead of chops.
Yes spare ribs and belly pork from same area but you can ask for a mixture.
