Hi everyone, I'm Paul and just signed up after lurking for a few weeks .
I have just purchased 13 acres of land adjacent to my house in Staffordshire and the plan for next year is to begin with a small quantity of goats.
But first i've got a lot of fencing to sort out and some very overgrown fields to contend with. I know i belong here because i'm delighted to have these problems. :excited:
Look forward to learning and contributing.

Hello and welcome to TAS  from :sunshine: Carnoustie.
Never kept goats myself, but I'm sure you will derive much pleasure form them. Are you planning to keep them for milk or meat? Or neither, I guess?

Welcome to the world of smallholding Paul :D

Surely [member=213513]PaulStaffs[/member] the goats will help with the overgrown fields !? Welcome to the forum.

Hi Paul, welcome, certainly sounds like you are in the right place.
Lucky you getting land adjacent to your house, I know how you feel, we managed to buy the land in front of our house, stopped the developers ;D .
Lots of good goat people here, but i suppose you've realised that. :)

Thanks for the warm welcome 😁
I think the future with the goats is milk and breeding although initially they’ll just be pets whilst I find my feet - literally, as foot maintenance is something I’m concerned about and want to get to grips with. I’ll tap into the knowledge here for sure.
The goats would definitely like the overgrown field but I don’t think I’d ever find them again at the moment 😆👍
