Title: Goat Herd marks
Post by: [email protected] on August 01, 2021, 07:35:10 pm
Hi, I have a CPH and flock number for my sheep. If I bring goats onto the same CPH do they need a seperate herd number to the sheep or do they use same number? Many thanks

Usually the flock number for sheep and the herd number for goast are the same. When you order tags for any goats born on your holding you have to state that they are for goats, and (in theory) they will be reocrded on the DEFRA database as such.

Thank you that’s brilliant, much appreciated.

I have a different number for mine, I find it easier to run 2 separate flock/herd books.
