Have been busy putting up fencing and a new shed (actually my hubby and father law were) for the girls as Tory (billy) has had their shed. Have put a shelf in there to keep hay and feed on so I don't have to keep fetching it, think it works really well! :)

again like the idea of the shelf, hope you dont get unwanted freinds going up for feed or shelter.
like the idea of putting the plysheets around the shed.
will be rehoming our girls soon as we are rehoming ourselves soon too!!
think i will copy that ;)

We have "kicking boards" about three feet high in our shed, very good idea! only problem is though the wasps go inside and build nest, they can get in through smal gaps in the outside, and you cannot reach them later... Our nest in there died out though sometime in early July....

We have had some of the unwanted friends. I found a dead rat in with the goats, I put poison in secure black boxes to kill them! Moving house for you and your goats that sounds like a lot of work! The shelf works well and they carnt reach the hay or food up there. :)

My dad gave me the shed and he had some spare plywood and gave it me to put round the bottom of the shed. Oh my god never even gave that a thought, hope we don't get any!

If you find where the wasps go in an dout you can spray some stuff onto it, but I never got round to do it when there were only a few, then there were more, but they did not get into the inside of the shed. Outside they did not interfere with the goats at all... But I was worried, then they just dispappeared.... not sure if the queen died/colony died out or something happened. Just watch out for it in spring.

Thanks for the warning! We have had wasps nests around the farm before so I will watch out. They are not one of my favourite creatures .
