Hi, so last time I took my pigs to my nearest abattoir the vet there moaned that the pigs were a little dirty. I explained that they were outdoor pigs but she said she already knew that. I have put some measures in to stop the pigs getting too muddy but if it rains hard the paddock becomes muddy and pigs like to roll around and so I don't really know what can be done.
Does anyone else have this problem with their abattoir? If so how do you avoid sending dirty pigs? Do you wash them?

Ours spend their last night in deep straw in the trailer. Lovely clean pigs emerge at the abattoir in the morning :)
