Yesterday I found out that I have a 1cm tumour in my right lung, through years of smoking. :'(
Im being booked in for a ct scan asap by my GP and then a biopsy to find out exactly what sort of cancer it is so wish me luck please.
-
hi, :hshoe: :hshoe: wish you all the luck in the world.
i know it may be hard to do but
STAY POSITIVE

Wishing you the very best of luck. I hope all is well, an enormous ammount of tumours are benign so don't panic!

Thinking of you. :hshoe:

From our own experience, staying positive has a very real effect on the outcome. You have the support and positive thoughts of everyone on this group, so you have every reason to come through this well. It's terrifying, but hang in there :hshoe: :hshoe: :hshoe:

THinking of you, I am sure you have caught it soon enough for positive outcome, I shall put up with my partners grumps while he is trying to stop smoking!!!!!!! I remember my mum working as a private nurse with a Lady, she was a Lady too!!, who had smoked since she was 9 years old, and smoked a lot,not just one or two, a dare say that did have an effect on her demise but being 99 when she died due to her legs being amputated, who cares!!!!! Lots of good food, fresh air and fun is what you need, you will get lots of support from us you can be sure
-
My thoughts are with you, Jackie. Keep positive- it will be fine, you will get through it. :bouquet:

I read your post on FB, but didn't realise who you were :-[
I lost my dad to lung cancer a few years ago & would love to stop smoking myself, but don't have much in the way of willpower..... perhaps a trip to the docs is in order.
Don't think i can add anything that's not been already said above, just keep yer chin up ;)

Stay positive and Good Luck Jackie............... ;)

All the luck in the world Jackie and our best wishes too. Stay confident. This is another hurdle for you to overcome. You can do it!

Thank you all for your good wishes and Ill try to stay positive but Im finding that hard to do just at the moment.
The very worst thing is that Small cell lung cancer is caused soley by smoking so its all my own fault :( :'(
-
Not really your fault, you are just unlucky. When my friend was 59 they diagnosed acute cancer, after a terrible operation they gave her just a few weeks to live. That was about 13 years ago. She is living here in France now, enjoying her life, and at 72 as lively and fit as any other 72 year old in our village. She wasnt just positive she was absolutely determined.
So keep positive.

i agree with hilarysmum,
positivity is very important, you have got to keep saying to yourself "IM GOING TO BEAT THIS".
dont let it win.
-
Hi Jackie,
With us lot behind you plus your very supportive family you cant not beat it. ;) :) :)
-
as there are people who smoked all their lives and never develop cancer there are lots of people who recover fully. Trust that you are one of them, Jackie. :&>
-
Good luck Jackie - hope all goes well for you. :hshoe:

My CT scan to determine how exstensive or not the cancer is next Wednesday at 2.20pm.
Im lucky in that Glenfield Hospital has the best recovery rates in the uk for lung cancer.
-
Will be thinking of you. Shall light a candle and say a prayer for you. I myself am awaiting results from tests I had done last week, in the new hospital in Falkirk. Thonk positive.
