Had a damaged horn that would not stop bleeding. Any suggestions for a wound powder? Found something called Wonder Dust which says it is a coagulant but also that it’s caustic which doesn’t seem good. Also Forans Black Wound Powder which has a fly repellent in it. Any other suggestions on what’s worked for you? There seem to be lots of powders but I need something that’s good at stopping the bleeding.

Corn flour!

For chickens we use arrowroot powder- basically because that's all we had to hand when a hen fight resulted in a comb that wouldn't stop bleeding. You need to remove all the blood from the wound and get it and hold it in place quickly. We used it again a few days later with the same pair. We tried 'plastic skin' which is a spray, but it wouldn't set fast enough and just got washed away.
Haven't tried corn flour.

I was going to say cobweb too, great minds shep. Then once it’s stopped bleeding summer fly cream is good at keeping flies off.

Sure can vouch for this don't worry about infection risk as the manuka honey "glue" takes care of that.
Worked on me.
