Hi to you all. I have just joined as everytime I google something on sheep a post from the forum pops up and you guys always have something interesting to say!!
Anyway, hello. My name is Sally and I have a smallholding in mid Cornwall. So far my animal family are all just pets but we are planning to breed the ewes for next spring. We have 4 sheep, all hand reared so they are incredibly tame and still love to be allowed in the garden with the dogs from time to time. 3 were last years babies and then Sophie, this years baby who is not yet weaned. We have 3 pigs, 3 donkies, 3 dogs, 4 cats, a rabbit, a parrot, 2 guinea pigs, 3 chickens and no time left for ourselves ;D but wouldn't have it any other way..

Well hello there from another Sally in Cornwall! North Cornwall in my case. (The "intNorth" dates from when I lived in the far north of England, beyond Hadrian's Wall, but I never got around to changing it.)
A mix of productive and pet animals here. Just lambing now - well, in theory, but the girls (6 of them this year) are in no hurry to get started, it seems.

Hello and welcome to the forum from me in South Lanarkshire
I'm just getting back into keeping livestock after a wee break, so far geese and chickens but we added 2 orphan lambs today and my piglets have been born so just a loooong 7 week wait for them.
Look forward to hearing more from you :)

You are very lucky Animal Crazy. We'd love to live in Cornwall, but on our budget South France is the best we could do. Weather is better, but they all speak French!
Nothing wrong with keeping them all as pets, as are all our chickens. We seem to get more attached to our animals every year and have lost the momentum to breed, other than just to replace them with known stock.

Welcome to the forum from me also.

 Welcome Sally from the colder North of England.
Sounds like you have a lovely family of animals 😊
We have pets only really. So far! ;D 6 friendly Shetland sheep as a purely fleece flock, 5 chickens ( 2 light Sussex, 2 gingernuts and 1 blacktail) and 5 miniature Silver Appleyard ducks - 4 females and 1 drake and 1 very soppy black Labrador who luckily is great with all of them :D. Hoping to expand the sheep flock a little bit next year maybe......
