Title: Hello
Post by: Simon and Kirsty on April 05, 2021, 10:09:35 am
Hello all.

We are Simon and Kirsty and we have 2 young boys under 5.

We have a 31 acre smallholding in west Wales and have pigs ducks sheep and now some molly lambs from a local farm.

The who place is a bit of a project as it was neglected for about 30 years as the old owner was only interested in the house. I won’t blame him, or ever have a bad word to say, he was a d day veteran. We owe a lot to them guys.

Anyway that’s us and I’m sure we will be asking questions about different things in the future as we develop the smallholding.

Gosh! 31 acres. That is a lot of land to sort out. Hopefully the boys can help you when they are a little older. Good for you for taking it on and you are welcome to ask any questions that you need to :) .

  Simon and Kirsty - 31 acres eh - that will keep you quiet for a while..

Do you  have a smallholder or farming background?

I would be interested in some 'before and after' piccies of your journey if you are up for it.

All the best for your venture.

That much land is a lot to play with. Fantastic. I keep thinking of moving to Wales - it is soooooooo much cheaper than here.
In Leicestershure 6 acre smallholding costs twice as much as our house. In Wales we could swap our house for a 30-40 acre smallholding

Hi Simon & Kirsty
Welcome and good luck starting your new venture!
I'm trying to get to grips with 8 acres, I can't even get 31 acres in my mind  :D
