Title: Jersey milk
Post by: ferdi on March 21, 2021, 05:16:34 pm
hi There,

A question for those milking Jerseys,
When hand milking my freshly calved Jersey ( she calved 3 weeks ago). Sometimes mid flow she produces what I would describe as fat globules, is this possible/probable or am I naively missing mastitis?
I can feel them leave the teat they viscous and are buttery colour, the milk flow then returns to normal.
Any advice great fully received, my past house cows haven’t produced such rich milk.

Get yourself a California Milk Test kit and just make sure it isn't subclinical mastitis.
