they were booked in for the 22nd of this month but they are at the finished weight and escaping now all the time,
so today i rand up asking could i bring them in on monday and to my delight they said no problem.
chuffed coming of the phone i went up to the pigs and went HA HA THERE YOU GO, NOT SO SMART NOW ARE YE!.

how long after Monday do you have to wait for the meat?

I would've waited until AFTER I had them in the trailer before I teased them Langdon - there's still time for them to get their own backs when you load them ;)
Funny, mine went off last week, a few weeks earlier than planned for exactly same reason - chasing pigs on a cold, dark, wet night (when the OH's at work) is no fun, especially when the pigs in question are black ::) ;D ;D ;D

yes transport fine, spent nearly £600 on the truck!.
should keep me going for a couple of years hopefully.
cant remember if you asked but im leaving in the abbaotir for a day or two maybe then bringing home to
cut up in freind's butcher shop ;)

unfortunaly we dont have electric in the field where the pigs are, we have the battery type.
the big durecel batteries that you buy in tescos etc.
instead of wire its a tape ( strip ) system that we have.
its great till they get to the finished weight then they just walk through it >:(!!!!!
have them now in a lovely shed which has plenty of room.

Langdon, is yours not of the dual power type - I'd double check as the one I've got was similar in that it toook two of the big torch batteries. We used the conversion kit on it to attach a 12v battery onto it and now it gives one hell of a kick and I've had few expereinces of getting shocks from it (one time i got stuck between strands, long story, but essentially got zapped off the bottom one to the top one and then back again four or five times!)

spuds and peas on the side, a little bit of gravy and some cider!!!!!!!
na we are thinking of doing ham this time, deffently sausages ( last ones were lush )
and then the usual.
