Welcome @Barrie    Your smallholding sounds fairly well established, how long have you been there?

We have lived here for over 30 years but We only retired a few years ago so the hobby of a couple of sheep has started to take a life of its own now in fact we are making a clearing in the woods so we can keep pigs and I'm getting a charcoal ring kiln next month. I think retirement is not the correct word to use here.

Active retirement is surely the best form of retirement :)

Hello and welcome Barrie and Mrs Barrie.  Charcoal burning is one of my dreams, but my hazel coppice is still a bit juvenile for that  :D

Hello Barrie and Mrs B  :)
Welcome to TAS
We keep chickens, ducks and Shetland sheep with occasional Swaledale ewes and their lambs from a farmer friend near us to help him out.
We're half retired but getting busier by the minute  :D
I must look up charcoal ring as I have no idea what that is!
