I think it is a bit hard to come by at the moment , I was looking for some myself as well as an old thatching variety of wheat, Square Heads Master. The SHM I found in the end and bought 3lb to sow a small area with , about 20 feet x 60 feet. This will then supply enough seed to sow an acre or so next year, about 60 lbs. Spelt wheat should be available from health food stores even if only in somewhat expensive small packs. Your friend could do the same as me, if all else fails, and buy just a few pounds to grow for seed to sow next year. I have seen spelt sold as a wheat grass growing seed , so it can be found . It may be a bit dear though . I found this site, although it is in the USA they may send to UK ?????

hope that helps Rosey, cheers  Russ

it was mentioned on Hugh's riverside autumn the other day and he got some and grow it AND made bread from it. Might be good asking the good man if he knew ?

I buy all my seeds from Seeds of Italy. They are a really good company, loads of seeds per packet and all lovely and fresh.
