Title: Blocked foot gland
Post by: tommytink on September 09, 2020, 03:12:25 pm
Hate to see the board with no posts so here’s another question!

One of the ewes has a blocked gland on her foot. The bit above where the two toes join. Noticed when we got them in for checks a week ago and in the field checking today it doesn’t appear to have gone down. I read that unless it’s infected (which it doesn’t appear to be and no lameness) that you can leave it alone. I don’t want to start squeezing it unnecessarily, but could it do with a soak in say, Epsom Salts?

I just knock the protruding stick of gunk off with my finger if any of mine look to have a build up.
