Title: an ill lamb??
Post by: yorks122 on April 26, 2020, 10:58:19 am
Hi!
I have two orphan lambs that we got from a local farmer. One of them is about 7 days old but continues to poo liquid yellow poo! the other one has started to firm up what it lets out but this one is leaking quite a lot of this funny stuff. Its different in colour and consistency to the very young lamb poo that I recognised- we have done this a few times but never seen this kind of poo. She isn't taking well to the bottle either, only eating 100/150 of the milk (powdered stuff) except from the early morning feed when she's hungry and will take 250ml.
could she just have a bad appetite or is the poo a sign of illness??
any help would be great thank you

Put it on PSF or Rehydion for 48 hours then back on the milk.  :fc: it will come right

If its fluid with maybe blood in it , take the lamb to your vet ( quickly ) and get it treated with a shot of Spectam  , Orojet , Penicillin , if you had the runs you would take oral Diocam  and then reyhdron .  Poo should be thick and very sticky
