Has anyone tried this???
Power XXL B9000 - Electric Fence Hobby Energiser, Solar, 9/12V Battery Powered, incl. 55Ah Battery
Getting tight on grass and only available ground left has a deep wet hole that is fenced but needs extra protection. Due to being down a hill, wheelbarrows not accessible. Mum said get a cheap solar unit.
Would be for cattle and sheep.

What exactly is your question? I can't be bothered to look up what you have referred to without a link!
If your question is - will a small energiser work OK with a car battery and solar panel? Then the answer is yes. I have used a small solar panel(about £16 - £20 new) to keep my energiser battery charged, and operating a small hobby type energiser, and it's been working successfully for several months without needing recharging.

It didn't take a lot of bother to copy and paste into google and get the link

I assume you are asking if this would be suitable, Pip?
I'm really sorry I don't know the answer but I am sure some kind person will come along soon

I don't imagine it does take long to cut and paste doganjo- if you know how to!
But when I clicked on the link you produced, that is not a Hobby Energiser with a 55 ah battery. The battery is much smaller capacity - only 7 ah. I use a 55ah car battery ( an old one will do) and I don't think the 7 ah one will hold sufficient power produced by the solar panel in winter when the days are shorter than the nights.
Needless to say I have already answered the question, based on the original specification. Yes it will work. But I would buy them all separately - the Hobby energiser, the solar charger (check the charging capacity) and the 55ah, or similar, battery.
