never had a chicken moult like this one :o Maude, the white star, is positively oven ready. completely bare under her chest and looks like a trans naked neck. wings are stumpy little pokey bits of feather...
carpet of white feathers everywhere.
will it get anyworse?! do I need to get her one of those battery hen cardigans because I'm sure she's shivering.

My light sussex moult this way, but they do it quick - so it's not long before the new feathers are coming through. I didn't knit them any chicken vests or anything, but then I am mean! ;D

;D thanks Bluedaisy, hopefully maude will be feathered again soon then. she's shivering under a bush at the mo.

I have a white turkey that goes almost bald right underneath exposing a very tasty looking plump turkey! She takes a while to get her new feathers through and is now starting to resemble a hedgehog. I just make sure she has a warm bed to go to if she feels the cold and a bit extra corn. She does look a mess and is the same every year bless her.
