Title: Can you take geese or chickens to an butcher?
Post by: Lancashire Smallholder on April 13, 2020, 07:19:26 pm
I am looking to increase my geese and chicken flocks, but I have never killed my birds for meet. I don't feel I want to do this myself.... at least not to start with.. but I don't know where to send them!

Can you help?

Hi, I would ask any local smallholders or farmers if they could help you.

Peter Boddy at Todmorden will do poultry, but only at certain times of the year when the volumes make it worthwhile.

If you're not too far I'd be happy to show you how we slaughter our meat birds, once lockdown is over.

Thanks for the replies.

Black Sheep.. I might take you up on that offer.. I am about an hour away from Todmorden so that might be an option as well. :)
