both the hens and goats will enjoy the barley, as long as it looks nice and fresh....
what a nice gift! ;)
-
can you make whiskey with it? L.O.L
-
Whole Barley? If so I personally wouldn't feed it by choice (can irritate their throats), but they will eat it readily.

Just a thought - I've never done it because as said, I don't buy it now - but you could try sprouting it for them.
Further to my first reply, plenty of people do feed whole barley as part of their birds diet, I just don't as when starting out I made up a mixed feed and the birds didn't get on well with it, looking into it I was told it could set up an irritation in the crop so I never bought it again after that.
Best wishes.

Hi Everyone,
Not feeding barley does not sound good as I have just accquired a 1 ton bag of it :(
-
Oh dear - I feel bad now! If it helps, if I was given a few bags of the stuff I'd be scouring the internet looking for ways to feed it to my animals.....
