I registered ages ago and said 'hello' then... I don't know what happened!
Anyway, since my last visit, we've bought an eleven acre smallholding and have eight Wiltshire horn sheep and 3 ex-bottle ewes , lots of hens and an organic apple orchard. This keeps us very busy and could explain why I haven't been around!
I look forward to joining in.

Hello Katie! Welcome again from north Wales. I'm really jealous of your organic apple orchard - would love an orchard myself. Planted four apple trees last year, in the area where several red plum trees were growing, which I call the 'orchard', nothing like yours though I'm sure. :D All the best.

Welcome again, Katie. I have an orchard too .................................. 4 apple trees, 2 plum trees, and a crab apple ;) You might say they are organic too as I don't put ANYTHING on them! However, I suspect the meaning of 'organic ' is a little more complicated than that. Any tips on proving it?

Hi Katie and welcome again. NOW all your organic orchard needs are a few organic piggies to eat the windfalls ;D :pig:

That's the next step! I've finally managed to persuade my husband that it would be A Good Thing!

Nice to see you are going down the pig route. Gloucestershire Old Spots are the traditional orchard pig.

Hello from wonderful west wales to Katie and Julie ;D

Welcome ;)
A question re keeping pigs in an orchard - how come the tree roots don't get trashed by the pigs' rooting?
Thanks
Tish

Hello  My "orchard" consists of three apple trees and one plum so I, too envy you. I hope all goes well for you.
