Title: Is this what's in the Bees' Bonnets?

Just read this newspaper article (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/07/science/07bees.html) on the scarily titled "Colony Death".

Beware, it apparently involves a combination of virusses and fungi, and the scientific method employed in this research involved smashing bees up on a desk to make "bee paste"  ???

Still, I figured it may be of interest to folks here.  ;D
