Title: Bar code labels
Post by: Frieslandfilly on October 14, 2010, 10:14:41 am
Not sure where to put this one so here is as good a place as any, we went to visit a fellow smallholder at the weekend (we are cow sharing this year and it is being kept at thier place) and she showed me the passport for the calf, on there were labels with her holding number  and address etc, also one for the address of purchase, she told me they were issued by the authorities, does everyone else have these and have we gone under the radar?? I have never been sent anything like these mind you even though I rang up for a pig number and told them we were getting two pigs, i still had to ring again for movement papers and they have still not sent me a pig register!! The pigs have now gone!

Passports are only for cattle.

So are the barcode labels only needed for cattle passports, not a general label?

Yes, they're for cattle passports. Not used for pigs or sheep. Yet.
