Title: Chook feeders- goat proof
Post by: Declan on October 13, 2010, 01:31:06 am
We've recorverd from having a sick pygmy goat who got a belly full of leyers pellets. As i work away from home during the day I haven't much time to feed the livestock in the mornings. So rather than keep the hens in the pen so that the goats can't get at the feed is there any sort of feeder that i can buy/make that will let the hens get fed but too small for the goats to infiltrate. I looked into buying one of those large upright feeders but i am worried that the goats will just knock it over.

any suggestions please.

i have my orpingtons in with my 2 goats and had same problem so we made a lean2 against the goats hut with a lift up sloping lid filled in at the front with just a small gap at bottom for chickens to get in and out and placed in side some guttering for a troff screwed to side so it dosent fall over
hope this helps
