Title: Pasteurellosis
Post by: Shire1980 on February 08, 2019, 08:00:11 pm
Got my first lot in to lamb and left the others outside.
One has become seperated from the group and is coughing.
Could this be Pasteurellosis and if it is should i put it in another shed well away from the rest of my ewes.

They're all upto date with Heptavac P and been fluked and wormed

COULD BE MANY THINGS  but if you suspect pneumonia then you need a VET  as soon as you can , as the earlier you treat it the better chance of recovery ,  looks miserable ,shallow breathing and a high temp .  Just because all treatments are up to date means nothing many pneumonia types are not covered by hep p+ .  Keep her warm and not stressed  by not  separating her from her mates , maybe in her own pen in the same shed .

I'll call the vets in the morning and ask if i can pick up some medication for it and see if that works.
Thanks

Seem's a lot better this morning. Still got a cough but is not standing alone anymore and has been eating.maybe i was just looking into it too much after losing so many with pneumonia last year. i've gave her a dose of multi birth just incase it was lacking energy.
