We are taking a break from lambing as we just don't have the facilities to house us and our 3 kids during lambing time and it's getting increasingly difficult with the kids each year. We are therefore looking at selling 2 of our ewes as they have plenty of years left in them. They were born in 2016, left for the first year then lambed successfully this year. Both were excellent mothers. The father was a Dartmoor Greyface and their mums are of unknown mixed heritage. They are strong sturdy sheep with good temperaments. Does anyone know how much they should be advertised for please? We also have some older ewes (that also have some breading years left in them) too so if you have any idea what to do with them too that would be great...

Easiest way is probably to sell them in your local stores market.
Put the 2 younger ewes in a separate pen to the older ones and stand near the pens so you can talk to any interested buyers.

I think unless you are an established breeder or the sheep are pedigree, sheep sell for the most at auction as buyers see before they buy, or just take a punt if the price is right.
I've sold privately and its a always been a bit disappointing.. For a pair of nice crossbred sheep I'd probably try them for £80 each and then drop £10 a week until they have interest. You should sell them asap though as people have already put Rams in and if they add to the flock it will mean a longer lambing, so people are less likely to buy..
