We are taking three texel x charollais lambs weighing about 40kg to be slaughtered and butchered in the next couple of weeks and expect them back packaged ready to freeze. What we dont sell immediately we'll freeze but this is the first time for us and dont know how much space a butchered lamb takes in a freezer and considering buying a new chest freezer to accomodate them.
Any suggestions as to capacity of freezer required?

hi a 40 kilo lamb should kill out at approx 50% so 20kg of meat. sort of 18 inches square per lamb

we have a 5 drawer upright freezer that stands short of 6ft. Half a 50kg livewt lamb boned and rolled fills 1 drawer
