LADIES!!! Remember...a layer of dust protects the Wood
beneath it.
'A house becomes a home when you can write 'I love you' on the furniture.'
I used to spend at least 8 hours every weekend making sure things were just perfect - 'in case
someone came over'
Finally I realized one day that no-one came over; they were all out living life and having fun!
NOW, when people visit, I don't have to explain the 'condition' of my home
They are more interested in hearing about the things I've been doing while I
was away living life and having fun.
If you haven't figured this out yet, please heed this advice.
Life is short. Enjoy it!
Dust if you must .......
but wouldn't it be better to paint a picture or write a letter, bake
cookies or a cake and lick the spoon or plant a seed, ponder the difference between want
and need?
Dust if you must, but there's not much time . . . ...
with beer to drink , rivers to swim and mountains to climb,
music to hear and books to read, friends to cherish and life to lead.
Dust if you must,
but the world's out there with the sun in your eyes,
the wind in your hair, a flutter of snow, a shower of rain. This day will not come around, again.
Dust if you must , but bear in mind, old age will come and it's not kind. .. .
And when you go - and go you must - you, yourself will make more dust!

Absolutely brilliant :) I will think of this every time I pick up (and put down) the duster!!

yay, my philosophy too!! :)

I don't dust I vacuum. I place a sock over the end of the hose and whoosh round with it, it is quicker and gives me more time to be with the animals and make jewellery. I used to love housework but now it is an inconvenience so if it doesn't need to be done it waits.

Just a quick point here. Why is this just aimed at ladies? As a man, I need as many excuses as possible to get out of dusting too. ;D ;D

Thank you, thank you
I still can't shake off the feeling of (what is it) shame, guilt, embarrassment?? when someone new comes into our humble home...
we need to hear what you said every now and then!! And most of the year I spend my time rather outside (not that that looks much better, lol)
Ian - just drawing the conclusion from watching my OH , males seem to know this naturally (he does not need to be told ::)) ;D :&>

Love this. Dusting is pointless. My old house is so dusty. One minute I do it, next minute there's dust. Even with my fabulous ostrich feather duster which was a gift. Hey, come to think of it, why did someone buy me it..?! :D

my sister-in-law gave me a cushion as a present, it said on it
"I cleaned my house last Monday, sorry you missed it!"
I must say that I thought this a bit rude ;D ;D ;D
