Title: Land rental costs
Post by: DavidandCollette on September 09, 2018, 05:26:19 pm
Just in the process of agreeing to rent land to graze our sheep( Lincolnshire)
Anyone have any idea of a reasonable price per acre?

I think there are lots of variables, like how good is the fencing, how good is the grazing, is there water, length of time your renting the fields for etc etc.

Here in Carmarthenshire I've been paying £100 an acre for the last 8yrs for well fenced, clean grazing with water.

Try speaking to the local mart as they will sometimes organise grass lets (they do up here).  Also try asking at the local agri store or local agri advisory office?

I pay @ £100/acre for 3 acres with a pond and mediocre fencing, and the same for a 5 acre field with no water, and I had to seed and fence it.
That is near Goole so possibly not a million miles from you.
