hi i am 17 and can i legally drive a tractor on my own on a provisional licence thanks

I've been driving tractors and a Landie illegally since l was 14, you could do this 50 odd years ago. Nowadays I would advise contacting the DVLA, they will give you the rights and wrongs of it :)

Off road, you can drive a tractor from 13. At 17, you can drive on road as long as you have a standadrd provisional and display L plates.
This is not relevant to you as you are 17, but you can get a provisional to drive a tractor at 16, but this only allows you to drive on the road with L plates on the way to or from a tractor test, which you can also take at 16 which would then allow you to drive on the road.
This is the legal stuff:

As tractors are only designed for one you drive alone from the start. To drive alone in a field it used to be aged 13 and on the road with L plates it is/was 16. You can take your tractor test at 16. Check for up to date regs with the DVLA website,
