Not the right way to treat an intelligent and fragile bird I'm afraid  >:( .

Ours would have been easy to catch in a similar situation, since they'd have downed a couple of bottles the moment they went in  ;D .

Agreed - typical of someone who has no idea about birds and thinks brute force will solve anything.
Ours would probably have gone for something more edible like crisps or peanuts :yum: , but easily herded out of the door with a bit of patience, instead of chasing them all round the shop.

Yup. Peafowl are incredibly hard to catch, but dead easy to shoo in the right direction as long as you don't make them panic.

They were lucky the peahen didn't start flying - that would've made a mess!
