breakfast is for wimps ;D
or those who crawl out of bed early enough to have it, i got up at 6am (should have been 5.30, but kept putting the alarm on snooze) washed down a quick cuppa tea whilst getting dressed and was off to the local poulty auction by 6.15..........no time for breakfast >:(
-
I thought about breakfast but then went to chase my crazy sheep out of the dog run before the dogs could go out
-
Sandy - last time someone said that Jess came along ............... ;) :o
::) ;)

I miss my sausage :'(
-
Well, as I'm on an oil rig in qatar at the moment, with an Indian catering crew. I've just had Moog bean Marsala with chapati :yum:
-
I recently saw a hyptotist to cure me of my aversion to fried eggs. What is the point, I thought, of producing all these delicious free range eggs if I wont eat them myself. So now I have bacon, egg, black pudding and tomato. £70 well spent
-
We have none of our own sausages or bacon left so I just have muesli, but as I am going to do a car boot sale this morning will have a slice of toast too.
-
a cereal bar and a banana before starting work in the office at 5am ... rubbish!
-
full breakfast eggs tomatoes sausages and full roast onley 1 day a week thats on sunday
-
Was just enjoying toast, my own bread of course, when I was rudely interrupted by the chickens mobbing. They ate two fledgling birds from a nearby nest, sparrows I think, and that put me off!
-
same as for me bamford, only 1 day a week do i eat breakfast usually i dont have time or the inclination to eat breakfast.
-
2 slices of wholemeal toast, one with honey on and one plain.
Now, about this treatment for the aversion to fried eggs- what did they do and who did you go and see humphreymctush?

I saw a hypnotist in South London called Martin Burgoyne. www.hypnosisinlondon.com
He did a variety of things. There was hypnotism, neurolinguistic programming and emotional freedom technique At one point I had to pretend to go sking with him and at on a number of occaisions he asked me to call to mind my sense of truimph after sucessfully delivering twin lambs in particulary tricky tangle. I was required to tap myself in various places and chant "Even though I am discusted by that richness, I choose to enjoy a complete cooked breakfast" The main thing is it worked. I think he held back a bit because he was concerned that if he gave it the full works I would become addicted to eggs and eat then "eggsessivley"
-
My wife is a fully qualified Hypnotherapist/NLP practitioner etc, any questions direct my way and i will get her to answer
-
I have a question for your wife W.P. Is there such a thing as an hypnosis "Gastric Band" and how does it work?
-
only tea...breakfast tends to make me even more hungry, so usually I wait until I am really ravenous at lunchtime, for that I had scrambled eggs, yesterday we had French toast! Lots of eggs, lol :&>
-
thats interesting. I heard that if you eat breakfast before you have done any work, your body looses the ability to metabolise body fat. I too find breakfast makes me hungrier unless I put in about three hours work before I have my bacon and eggs.
-

Yes please, how can I stop myself eating bread and butter - I know that is why I can't lose any weight., but my will power isn't strong enough to stop me buying them.
-
the hyptotist I saw was acustomed to helping people give things up. He cured a woman of a cashew nut addiction. so I am sure bread and butter would be just as easy
-
I have to stop myself putting butter or any spread on toast if I have that for breakfast as I love butter on toast!!!!!! THis morning I was hungrey due to feeling a bit strange last night!! so had 2 rounds of wholmeal toast, no spread and a few baked beans so I think we may have a breezy day here ;)
-
I had pate on toast today & it was rather splendid 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Not sure what to have for breakfast his morning, still staying on my diet, not too strict but if I start the day with sweet stuff, (I love porrage with brown sugar) I crave more sweet stuff for the rest of the day??/ ??? ???
-
Porridge on ti sown - without sugar or honey is the best start to the day you could have. It releases energy gradually. I know that is what I should do but I just reach for the quick and easy corn flakes, and now I'm hungry again at 11.30. off to do some painting to keep my mind off it.
-
I had a pack of quavers and a coffee this morning, no so good for my diet, im supposed to be cutting out caffine ::) oh well, im not a fan of milk so never have cereal, it usuayl something like a slice of toast with eggs and mackeral :yum:
-
I love porrage and usualy do have sugar as it is a bit like wallpaper paste otherwise...def NO salt as I never have extra salt on things, also, I am not too keen on cereal as I am Lactose intolerant and if I have a bit too much milk I get very bloated, can't stop huge burps and feel sick for about 30 mins so not nice although a good party trick ;) However, I did have cereal and Anne, I am hungry again :( so off to make another cuppa to pretend and then get back to my cleaning...I WAS painting too but we have guests arriving so it wouldn't be nice for me to be doing the room around them, even though only one wall is done!!!!!
-
Milky coffee, a roll on meat, then a cake. :chook:

But you English never know how to make GOOOOOODDDD porridge! ;) I'll make some for you sometime that won't look or taste like wall paper paste. ;D Have done the undercoat in my utility room, left it to dry while I had a slice of toast and a cup of tea, and a banana, now off to do the top coat. Dogs wandering about in the rain so took Bobby in to keep Freckles company - they played for a bit and now are sleeping on the bed beside the computer. They'll be on their feet the second I stand up though. Might end up with two tricolours ;D ;D ;D
-
This morning I had half a sausage, french beans, courgettes, sweet corn and onion gravy---left over from last night, hotted up! :-*
-
none today - had my hair dyed instead ;)
-
went out for late morning coffee with my girls, mum and friends, had a scone with butter and jam as I never get my own scones just as perf :&>ect as those!! Utter luxury :yum: :yum:
-
Anne, we have made porrage for many a Scott and they love it...I know they like a bit of salt and often a wee drop of Whiskey but we don't do that...I still love it with sugar like I love weetabix with sugar but I don't have it...no matter where you live or come from..ya likes what ya likes!!
-
cereal, fruit juice, burger & onion roll, milky coffee.
-
Now with milky coffee you need a rich tea or maybe a digestive...both plain............
-
roasted tomatoes on toast again yum yum :yum:
-
Yuk I couldn't eat anything cooked for breakfast. Except porridge. Decided my weight has got beyond a joke so started this morning with porridge and a cup of coffee. Now past the time when I normally feel hungry(11 am) and so far no tummy twinges so it must be working.

Spoiled myself today. My mates home made sausages with fresh eggs from down the lane on my home made buns. Was lovely. :yum: :yum: :yum:
-

-
I have a B&B so I had the broken fried egg and the remander of the beans that got stuck in the bottom of the pan...funnily enough, it was nice, now I have microwaved the rest of the filter coffee then off to do the B&B stuff then the dog and the chicken stuff.....no more feeding for a while for me...
-
The beans that have thickened up at the bottom of the pan are the best :yum: I had a couple of cereal bars as I worked. Busy day
-
Yoghurt and a peach :yum:
-
A hangover!!
-
Oh lucky you Gordon. I had milky coffee and a roll.
-
Gordon it would have been nice to have a hang over as yesterday was mad and no drink in the house and the m inister left too late for us to nip across the road ;) Well, the old beans on toast again, no butter and oatmeal bread as I am STILL on a diet....will I ever be off a diet :(

kids are fine when they are babies and toddlers, but once they can talk, they soon learn how to spill the beans, don't they?!!! Imagine doing that after you bought her chocolate cake!!

I copied this from my BT webpage and was impressed about food ideas for diet breakfasts, this morning having bacon, beans, egg and dry toast. Love it!!
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so it's essential that you make the most of it. But really it's not that difficult to get a good deal of nutrition from your morning meal. We've put down 10 healthy breakfast options to help you prepare a nutritional feast that will keep you going all day.
Porridge and berries
Use oats and skimmed milk to make your porridge, then add any berries such as strawberries, raspberries or blueberries and honey. This is a great way to start the day as the oats have a low GI (Glycaemic Index) this tells us that oats do not raise the blood glucose level very quickly, which is good as it can help stabilise the appetite. Just go easy on the honey!
Beans on toast
Beans (whether they are just ordinary baked beans or kidney, borlotti or black eyed beans) also have a low GI like oats. They are full of soluble fibre, which helps keep you full for longer and can therefore help you manage your weight. Serve the beans on granary toast and pass on the butter; a great, low- fat breakfast.
Bagel with reduced fat cream cheese and smoked salmon
Bagels are high in starchy carbohydrates, which help kick start the body into action for the day after a fast of at least eight to 10 hours. The smoked salmon provides the body with omega-3 fat which is essential for the body. Many of us eat far too much saturated fat (which is bad for us) and not enough omega-3 fat that is vital for our health.
Fruit and yogurt
Try adding your favourite fruit to a small pot of low-fat or diet yogurt for breakfast. A small pot of yogurt counts as one of your three portions per day of dairy foods, essential for the teeth and bones.
Bacon, tomatoes, beans, mushrooms and toast
For those of you who can’t resist a cooked breakfast at the weekends try this. It really is a healthy twist on a traditional fried breakfast; grill the bacon, tomatoes and large, flat field mushrooms; if you
Crumpets and fruit spread
Crumpets are a starchy food (they should be the basis of every meal). The only problem with crumpets is the tendency to add lots of butter to them. Try a fruit spread, a great way to top them without adding all the calories and fat in butter.
Muesli and soya milk or low-fat milk (such as semi-skimmed or skimmed milk)
Swiss-style muesli has milk powder added to it, which increases the calcium content of this breakfast cereal. Add calcium-enriched soya milk or semi-skimmed milk and you have a bone-friendly breakfast!
Pure fruit juice and iron-fortified breakfast cereal
Next time you are in the cereal aisle at the supermarket, spare a few minutes to check out the labelling on the packets. Not all cereals are equal when it comes to the vitamins and minerals that are added to them. Iron is a mineral that is added to many cereals, try sultana bran or bran flakes, drink a glass of pure fruit juice such as orange or grapefruit and the vitamin C that the juice contains helps your body to absorb the iron more easily.
Smoothie
If you really can’t face breakfast try to have a smoothie instead. If you fancy trying to make one yourself (easy if you have a hand blender) then fruits such as berries, apples and bananas are great with some milk. All those antioxidant vitamins in the fruit help boost your immunity.
Scrambled or poached egg on granary toast
Eggs are not bad for us! It is what you do with them… Poaching or scrambling eggs with a little milk is a good way to incorporate them into your diet – they provide valuable protein. Scrambled eggs on toastis a much better choice over a fried egg sandwich.
-
I had home made flapjacks with cranberries today.
-
usually just a cup of tea as im prone to forget to feed myself, hubby makes me scrambled egg on toast regular or beans on toast (tomato paste added to beans to make it more tasty)
and on occasion french toast (knew i married him for a reason)
-
we had cheese omelette.
there is just no substitute for truly free range eggs, is there!

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so it's essential that you make the most of it.
If I start eating like that in the morning I don't stop, so it's porridge and a cup of tea for me every morning. Mind you, my slimming class leader said last night I don't eat enough - don't see the logic in that!
-
Today I tried the toasted Bagle with a bit of smoked salmon and an egg, it was nice and very filling, no spread or butter was used in making this breakfast!!!!!!!!
