Post by: Twotwo on March 19, 2024, 06:20:26 pm
When heptavac-ing the sheep I’ve used Sterimatic caps for years .. now they don’t make the caps anymore, what do you use/do instead.. ?

We just use a standard disposable needle and no stericap.

I just use a normal injector gun and 1/2” 19g needle. To be honest I prefer it as with sterimatic I found it hard to feel when I was in the right place!

Do you not still use the needle guard then, @twizzel ?

Do you use a new needle each time or dip them in anything?

When injecting large numbers of sheep  then some sites say  20-25  0r 50  before changing needles

Put a new needle on before I start. Never more than 50 in a group.
