Title: Lovely afternoon
Post by: Lesley Silvester on September 16, 2014, 10:47:16 pm
Today I spent a few hours sitting in the garden (in a tee shirt) and spinning a lovely fleece. The birds were singing, I could see all the fruit and veg almost ready for harvest and my goats kept coming to talk to me.

What more could anyone want?

Idyllic     Makes winter bearable to have summer days like that.  Which fleece were you spinning?

The weather has been so kind to us lately and I have taken the opportunity to wash some fleece.

I was just thinking I should be getting on with that too  ;D  At the moment though I'm a bit buried under an avalanche of runner beans and tomatoes, golden gages, apples and brambles.   Which to do first?   And the grass keeps growing and dry days for the mower are precious - maybe getting our lawn tractor so grass cutting is my job now, was a slightly flawed decision, from my point of view  :roflanim:  It's still novel enough to be fun.

I've no idea except it is a very dark brown. My spinning group gives a spinning demonstration at a local farm park to tie in with their shearing demo. We are allowed to take what fleeces we want. It's spun up beautifully and I'm rather proud of it. I'm going to knit my grandson a hat as he prepared and carded the fleece for me (only two batts but it helped).
