Title: and we are spent
Post by: ellisr on March 31, 2011, 09:48:48 am
Well lambing is now done for another year. Our last ewe (Demi) had a beautiful little ewe lamb yesterday breech of course ::) but she is such a good mum she didn't stress whilst the process was going on and just lay down quietly for help but that is her nature she is very laid back normally.

Good show! Nice sense of satisfaction when it's all over.

Yes, I have that nice feeling when the goats have all kidded.  Only had two this year.  No matter how long you have been around sheep, goats, etc, there is still that worry, and waiting.  Then when its finished and all is well, you wonder why you worried!!!!

the satisfaction is nice and the planning for next year begins. I want to see if I can improve there condition (but not too fat) in case we get another harsh winter so I can lessen the issues for next year and they can cope better with the extremes in the good old british weather.
