Anyone going?
-
I'm thinking about it. Just saw your post elsewhere, might be able to help.
-
I''ll be there
You''ll see me around the piggy area most of the time - must remember to wear my TAS t-shirt :eyelashes:
:pig:
-
There on the Sunday
-
I will be there on the Sat
-
I'm going up in Friday with some pigs, so will be there both Saturday and Sunday in the pig building (showing Sat pm - morning is for the modern breeds, afternoon for traditionals). Lots of talks taking place in the pig building over both days, should anyone be interested.
Do come and find me and say hello if you're heading to the show. Always good to put faces to names.
Liz
-
I'll be there Sunday. Be on Ryeland stand for a while mid day.
-
Shame I an going to mniss you Karen as we will be there the day before.
-
Anyone interested in meeting up at midday on the Saturday? Say - by the first aid area?
-
I'd love to meet up then, but will be on the point of going into the show ring. Think the traditionals start at 1pm.
-
What about elevensess on Saturday?
The kks aren't being judged till Sunday after 1.00pm, but we've got to take them up on Saturday morning as no stock is allowed to arrive after 8.00am on Saturday - meaning we've got to go for the 2 days - not very happy about this as we can't stay over as wehave to come home to feed the rest of our menagerie, so double fuel costs
So ...
We'll be about Saturday morning for a meet-up
 :pig:

Just trying to have a bit of light relief amidst the seemingly endless hassle of MIL's estate.
-
Elevenses on Sat would work for me.
Suziequeue, Liz, can you do that time? At the first aid point
-
I should be able to pop over for a bit. Look forward to seeing you. I'll be the one in the white coat!
-
Brill :excited:
-
Sorted :-)
I'll be there Sat
:excited:
I'll be wearing my TAS hoodie
-
I'll be wearing my TAS hoodie too but it might be covered up by my fleece, waterproofs, and any other extra layers I can find :roflanim:
-
I'll be there Sun ... and only have t-shirt so roll on the :sunshine:
-
Linda,
You obviously haven't hear the latest forecast. SNOW..... a couple of inches for the top of the Beacons.
-
I know ..... at least my idea of needing fly repellent for sheep can be defered!!!
May get there Sat so will join in meet up if we do.
Linda
-
Yep, I've only got the t-shirt too - but then again we've been so acclimatised to the cold in Scotland over the past few years we're finding it quite warm down here now, even the rain feels softer :eyelashes:
-
The current BBC weather forecast says cloudy and about 11C. Not bad for this show!

Counts in our book as hot Liz ;)
-
remember last year having such cold knees I bought some over knee socks and put them on.... thermals on this year I think!
-
What were you doing showing your knees in Wales BiW :o :o :D
-
We will be there all weekend (going over Friday afternoon). You'll find us in the sheep hall with a motley bunch of Greyface Dartmoors (Marchgwyn). Wish us luck, this is out first time so anything could happen.
Weather is not looking promising - wellies and waterproofs look like being the order of the day, but who know donw here in Wales - anything could happen - we could have snow (don't laugh!) or it could be really hot like last year (I wish!).
-
Its a great show and going on saturday :raining:

Good luck Steve :fc: easy to say, just try & relax & have fun :excited: I'm not very good at this myself, but remember the same animal can go under half a dozen judges & get 6 different placings - each to their own - beauty is in the eye of the beholder :eyelashes:

Well ...
Don't know where everyone was this morning - only managed to chat briefly with Suzieq.
How did those showing their animls do today? Lillian & Robert's Hampshire, Hazel, has qualified today for the supreme champ class tomorrow, so :fc: for them.
Anyone going tomorrow? We'll be there from about 09.00 - we'll be by the :pig: most of the time, though out classes don't start until 13.00.
 :pig:
-
Beewyched, I came looking for you (suziequeue told me what you were wearing) but couldn't find you. Tried to find Liz too and she had gone missing each time I got to her pigs (perhaps she was trying to tell me something)
Anyway, weather was good and I enjoyed myself
-
Yes - sorry Beewyched - went to find the others and found Sally and Lynda (Backinwellies) with her OH. We chatted for a few minutes and then came round to the coffee bar but you had gone by then.
We must have been chatting for longer than I thought.
Apologies.
Hope you do well in today's classes.
-
Yes sorry to have missed you too Beewyched (see you on 6th I hope) .... and good to have met you Suziequeue Ian was very impressed with your list of small holding developments.
-
Sorry everyone - they kept on changing the time we were due in the ring, so couldn't risk being too far from the building (this is why the OH hates pig shows - they never run to time). Really disappointed to have missed everyone. I always leave a phone number on my pen (can't be there every minute) so if anyone does call in, all they have to do is ring and I'll come back and meet them.

My family and I went on the Sun, it was the first time we have been, we had a fantastic day! We ended up buying some quail at the auction and then spent the day having a wander. There were lots of demonstrations on that I had wanted to see but it was a bit difficult with the kids so next year I think we will camp for the weekend and go both days!
I didnt keep an eye out for any TAS t-shirts and badges but didnt see any. I hope you all had a good time, weather was glorious!
-
What a lovely weekend - met -up with old friends, beautiful weather :sunshine: & such a well organised event
Sorry to have dashed-off Suzieq - we were needed in with the pigs, hopefully we'll catch-up another time :fc:
Sally & Lynda - we did disappear on a regular basis as I had my dog with me, so I had to keep putting him back in the old (well ventilated) Landy to go & see certain areas.
Liz - I know what you mean - our classes changed 3 times, then ended-up back at the original time - Lillian did point you out to me, but you were dashing off with your white coat on.
Jasmine did a respectable 5th place in her class, not bad for her 1st time out :eyelashes:
 :pig:
-
Beewyched - didn't realise you were showing pigs. I've probably got pictures of you in the ring. What classes were you in/what do you look like?
-
:excited: :yippee:
Well done Jasmine and Beewyched
-
I went with family had a great day, bought two light sussex point of lay chickens.

Yep, just a wee KK gilt, Jasmine  didn't bring "The Scottish Champ" Maisie as she isn't looking her best at the moment :-[
We were in the KK - gilt or boar born after January 2012 class (sorz can't remember the class no. ::) )
Me - well - um - I usually wander around in dungarees, but I do "dress proper" for the ring - the give-away is the purple hair ;)
