I'm (finally) picking up my six Geese this week. They've got about ten miles to travel and I was hoping to use my little garden trailer. It has a fibreglass top and whilst I think there will be enough space for them, is it OK to keep them in the dark for the journey? On the one hand I think this might keep them calm, but I just wanted to check. I could alternatively rig up some pallettes as a sort of pen in the trailer.

We always, if possible, move our chickens at night. Darkness calms them down so, if ventilation is adequate, your geese should be fine.

Well in the end we put all the birds in a large dog crate- too much space in the trailer. My car kind of smells now...

So do geese!

My geese smell of duvets. Weird eh? ;D

what do geese smell of? And please don't say "goose" ::)

I don't get my nose too close to my geese, dear as I love them but if not cleaned out at least once a week their house stinks something awful!! Like a duck's house :&>
