Yay! :excited:

Anyway, she has very yellow legs, none of the other hens do so I'm not sure who mum might be but the hens I saw laying in the nest the Warren was sitting were a RIR and a Sussex.  I have lots of potential culprits tho, the nest wasn't moved until after hatching and could have had other visitors than the 2 I saw..

No.1 chick, I see what you mean they could be sisters, your legs are very yellow.
Have you sexed them ? 2 & 3 look like they maybe boys
I'd guess RIR
Hope things pick up for you  :fc:

The thing is your Cockerel doesn't look pure CLB. He doesn't have yellow legs and his barring is too soft and light.  And he doesn't appear to have a crest. So any offspring may not look as expected.
The hen has almost green legs? She looks like a typical hybrid CLB which are often passed off as pure so I suspect she is cross with something commercial or high egg yeld like a RIR?

There's just the one chick, sorry the camera isn't showing her consistently enough to id, nor the colours quite right either then as her legs are definitely yellow not green, and the cockerel's are dirty but yellow underneath.  Not sure what you mean about crest FF as all his gingery top feathers on/behind his head stand up and out from his head most of the time and I'd call that a crest but again it may be me misinterpreting or just my photography skills as it's not as pronounced in that photo but it was the one by a dirty white door rather than things he might get lost against..

He might well not be purebred, or he might be but not a well marked/barred one, or I could be doing him an injustice with my phone - I don't know, but he seems to give folk that impression when they see him and I'm not an expert in anything other than feeding, egg searching and muck shovelling..  :-\

Anyway, the hen that laid the egg that became this chick could well be RIR or any one of my other ladies, I just posted as it looked close to what someone else posted as a CL x Silkie and I thought someone might pick up the mother's id, not that it matters if she is a she and lays eggs!  If she turns out to be a he, not so good, but from her first day photo on everyone's told me she's defo a girl so I'll wait and see if an egg turns up or not in due course and confirm at that point!

Thanks for the input anyway, appreciate it  :)
