I have some French Copper Black Marans this year, as well as my own line of Cuckoo Marans for nice dark eggs and plenty of them www.darkbrownegg.info (http://www.darkbrownegg.info)
Plus some very nicely bred (well I think so :D ) Cream Legbars see www.blue-eggs.co.uk (http://www.blue-eggs.co.uk/)
And hatching eggs from my home bred Miss SugarnSpice see www.misssugarnspice.co.uk (http://www.misssugarnspice.co.uk/) I still have a few of these POL and just in lay to give a really colourful egg basket -see below. They are all good layers as I breed with utility values firmly in mind
You are welcome to collect from Worcestershire/Herefordshire borders, or will happily post out eggs

i have bared rocks and black rock utilatey at the mo Victorian Farmer Heritage Poultrey face book and chicks

I'm new to egg hatching. :dunce: Are hatching eggs the same as fertile eggs? What I'm looking for is fertile eggs that my broody bantams could raise.
I'm looking for something that can be raised for the table. Maybe light sussex? I presume that the really big meat birds such as hubbards or cobbs would be too big for a bantam to brood????
-
Your bantam should be able to raise large fowl chicks, no problem. She won't be able to brood many eggs though as she simply won't be big enough to keep them all warm. Unless you plan to keep them all in a barn or similar I wouldn't personally set eggs under a broody until late March and even then depending upon the weather. Cold is a chick's enemy, wet is a chick's enemy, cold and wet is ......

Wanted - I've just found out that my first batch of Large Silver Appleyard eggs were all infertile. I'm trying a second lot but if any of you have proven SA eggs, I'd be interested in getting some. Also has anybody got Aylesbury fertile eggs?
I MIGHT have some West of England goose eggs but I'm going to try hatching as many as possible myself first - and the first batch is yet to go into the incubator so I don't know whether they'll be OK yet.

I have now had three hatches of Dorkings, with results of 10 of 11, 6 of 7 and 9 of 9. All chicks are now growing away well. Parent birds are fed a breeders ration and kept on bark chippings in an old concrete cattle yard. Hatching eggs will be available until the end of June and will be collected every day, stored in a cool, dry, even temperature and turned twice daily.
Please PM me if you would like further details.

Hi, what colour are your Indian runners and call ducks? Have they been bred pure colours? My incubators are full at the moment (depending on next candling) but hens will probably be broody soon. How much longer do you think your ducks will be laying/you will have eggs for sale? How much do you sell the eggs for?
Many thanks.

Hi, the indian runners are a mixed bunch with also the crested gene, I have white, chocolate and white, black and a caramel bib, trout, apricot white and chocolate and blue. The call ducks are apricot, magpie running with a apricot, blue and white drake.
So no pure colours, prefer having a mixture although may seperate some of the runners next year as will have over 40, all are unrelated good quality stock.
It is down to nature on how much longer they will be laying for, they are good layers, the call ducks are limited at the moment as I have two broodies on eggs, although some of the others are laying.
If you want to pm me when you are ready. Many thanks
