Title: G'Day from Kaukapakapa!
Post by: Paul King on June 09, 2015, 01:09:34 am

Kia ora koutou and hello there, I see this is mainly (I think) a UK site? I'm originally from Hampshire but now live in beautiful rural north west Auckland on a few acres overlooking the kaipara harbour. We have only been on the land for 8 months, so far, 6 sheep (lawn-mowers) a few hens and our two dogs. I guess it's not much different where we are to the UK except warmer... and I can afford a few acres within 45 mins of the CBD of the largest city in the country...

Hi from somewhere near Doncaster!  I come originally from Portsmouth, but haven't travelled as far as you. What other animals are you planning on having? :farmer:

Welcome from north Cumbria

Mainly UK, yes, but we do have a few members from other places. It's always good to hear how they do things in other places  :D

Sounds great! I have been lucky enough to go twice to New Zealand and was struck by the similarity to the UK (but with more sheep!) :sheep: :sheep: :sheep: :sheep: :sheep:
North west Auckland sounds ideal for a smallholding. Let us know how you get on. :)
