Title: Barn owl chicks

Just found out we have barn owl chicks in the nestbox. this is situated on a tree trunk near our stream
very excited
Didn't think it was being used but the conservation chap came and has confirmed live chicks
got my very own Springwatch!!

Our tawny owl youngsters are still around the area with their 'feed me' calls happening every night  ;D

Quick update, the chicks are nearly fit to fledge there were 4 but now only 3. can't wait to see them fly.
Good result to have them breed so close ;D

Have you seen your barn owls since they flew the nest?  I can hear the tawney owls calling most evenings now :D , and saw one by the house last night.  But no barn owls :(

We never saw the chicks again, they fledged and that was the last we saw of them. Haven't seen the parents for a long time either  :(  hope they are all ok i'm just hoping they've moved on a bit for food. We took a crop of hay this week from that field which was later then usual because of the weather so they may have moved on.
The tawneys are very vocal at the moment down our way too i love their call
