My darling hubby gave me a choice for my birthday present this year - would I llike to go to a health/beauty spa for the day and be rigorously pampered, or would I like to go on the Chicken Keeping course at River Cottage?
Well there was no need to dwell on this one! Of course I opted for the Chicken keeping course which is on 9th May - I'm so excited, but if I'm really honest, it's the lunch I'm looking forward to the most! :P
The course covers all aspects of chicken keeping, and as we've had chooks since december, I thought it was time I checked I was doing things right! It includes a 'despatch and dressing' lesson at the end - 'please bring a cool bag to take your bird home in'! This will be completely new to me but I'm looking forward to learning how it's done.
Anybody else going? I can't wait - although I shall be sorry to miss Phillip, the SingingShearer who will be shearing our Badger Face Welsh Mountain that day!

you will have a great day, i have not been on that course but I have taken the kids to River cottage on some of their summer 'open' days. And yes the lunches are lovely!

if only i were closer, i would LOVE to go to river cottage...my idea of heaven! enjoy

I have a two and a half hour drive to get there! B&B would be nice but the course was quite pricey so I'll have to get up early!
I will of course feed back on how lunch was...oh and the course content...but I'm sure you'll want to know about lunch first! :P
