tesco, yes i know its a swear word, are building a wee local store down the road from us, they had some lovely light weight 8ft x 4ft pallets they were throwing out, a quick scrounge and a few hours with a saw and some nails and i'll have an assortment of wooden hurdles in convenient sizes, that will do at least this winter till i can buy some real ones :-)
yay for not quite skip diving!!!

Sounds good to me

We have some very handy pallet hurdles, some of the 5ft by 4ft ones, if you knock off the middle blocks and the couple of horizontal slats on the back, plus the second top horizontal on the other side (for reduced weight) make great basis, then we nail on a wire loop top and bottom of each side, a broomhandle through the loops to join hurdles and job's a good un!

these are quite lightweight and the slats are a bit far apart but if i take 2 slats off the back and position in gaps on the front jobs a good un!!!
at 8 x 4 i can lift them in 1 hand, so once i cut some down to better sizes (i hear you all about 6ft and 4ft options) they will be a doddle even for the kids to lift.
liking the wire and broom handles though!!!
