My friend came round today to do hooves as it is nearly two months since the were last done. Pom's needed a bit of a trim but weren't bad at all. Cloud's look as if they haven't been touched for months - very overgrown and hard to cut.
The only thing we can think of is that the pregnancy hormones have someone caused excessive hoof growth. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes probably. I have done some of mine shortly after kidding (I normally won't do them in the last 6 weeks before kidding) and they seemed very overgrown. You might need two attempts at getting them back to normal though...

Yes, I have the same thing and then give them 2 or 3 trims over a couple of weeks go get them back to normal.

She is going to get done again as soon as she's kidded. I think we might have to soak her feet first just to soften the horn.

I take a spray bottle with warm water out for hoof trimming mine, helps get the hooves soft and you can spray away bits of dirt as you go

What a good idea. Thanks, fiesty.
